Tahimik na Paumanhin

Pagpapatawad na Hindi Binibigkas

Nangyari ang sitwasyon matapos ang hindi pagkakaunawaan namin ng aking kaibigan na si Rosh. Una na akong humingi ng tawad, ngunit hindi niya ito tinanggap. Sa mga araw na lumipas, ramdam ko ang bigat ng pagitan naming dalawa. Tahimik lamang siya, madalas umiwas ng tingin at hindi makalapit sa akin. Lumapit ako sa kanya. Ako si Cassandra, dahan-dahan kong inilapit ang aking kamay at marahang hinawakan ang balikat ni Rosh. Saglit siyang nanatiling nakatungo. Sa mga mata ko, pinakita ko ang lungkot at taos-pusong pagsisisi. Inyuko ko rin ang aking ulo, tanda ng pagpapakumbaba at pag-ako ng pagkakamali.


Ilang sandali pa, bahagyang gumalaw ang mga mata ni Rosh papunta sa akin. Hindi man siya ngumiti, napansin kong may bahagyang pagbabago sa kanyang kilos. Unti-unti kong inalis ang aking kamay at binigyan siya ng espasyo. Ang simpleng pagkilos na iyon ay nagsilbing tulay upang mabawasan ang lamat sa aming ugnayan.


Sa karanasang ito, napagtanto ko ang halaga ng di-berbal na komunikasyon. Ang simpleng hawak, pagyuko ng ulo, at pagtitig sa mata ay nagsasalita nang higit pa sa mga salitang “patawad.” Minsan, ang katahimikan at kilos ang nagiging tunay na wika ng puso.
